I'm the creative and founder behind K Made Design Co., and I’m here to help you transform your brand and website into your greatest assets, that build your reputation for you and a community of hyper-loyal brand advocates!
Hi, I'm Karlie!
I sincerely hope this year’s post-Christmas-flu-season has been a lot kinder to you than it’s been to me, friend.
After spending a week rotting on the couch, coughing, sneezing, and blowing my nose, I’m back on my feet! (I say as I write this firmly planted on my bum…on said couch.)
Nonetheless, it’s been a hot second since I’ve popped into your inbox…or anyone’s inbox for that matter. (Maybe that’s why I’m sending this out well into the evening 😬)
Anywho – I have a very important question to ask you:
What’s your favorite T-Swift song?
(I, of course, understand the stress of this question for anyone who calls themselves even remotely a Swifty. So, I will also take an answer as your favorite era.)
I have a point to this, I promise.
As you may remember, we are smack-dab in the middle of my email series where I tell you eeeeeverything I did to launch my rebrand, and we’ve reached part four!
Now before we dive in, and I cleverly tie in my Taylor Swift question, feel free to grab my Brand Launch Checklist if you’re looking to launch a rebrand yourself!
TACKLING MY REBRAND: PART FOUR
Nailing the brand photoshoot
If you haven’t already, I’m eagerly waiting for you to hit that reply button so we can gab about Taylor Swift and your favorite era.
(For reference, I’m a Speak Now girlie myself 💜)
But while I’m waiting, let me tell you everything I did to make sure my brand photoshoot was exactly on point for my goals…and what that even has to do with Miss Americana. (Stay with me!)
If you’re wondering how to have a successful brand photoshoot – believe me, prep work is everything here.
And in terms of prep work, I’d recommend you:
Know what photography style and poses you want to shoot,
And make a list of what props you want to bring
Before I even contacted a photographer, I took a deep dive into Pinterest (again). While having my brand’s design inspiration board open to reference, I started collecting any and all photography inspo I wanted to emulate for my shoot.
If you took the time to curate some brand adjectives, you can use those to also search for your specific photo style. This way, everything fits right into your brands vibe!
Using these to search things like “nostalgic brand photoshoot inpso” made the process a lot easier.
Pro tip: Use Pinterest’s board organization feature to separate your pins into sections by pose.
I organized mine into sections like “standing,” “in the floor,” “stock imagery,” etc. And let me tell you – this came in MEGA handy during the actual shoot.
Both me and my photographer were able to reference the board again and again to help with posing and give ourselves direction.
This allowed us to be the most efficient with our time, knowing all the photos we wanted to take in the floor before moving on to the stool. Life saver!
Once you have a variety of inspiration pieces, you’ll also have a good idea of what kind of props to bring.
Simply make a list and start gathering – whether it’s stuff around your home, thrifting, shopping, whatever! And start early – this will keep you from being overwhelmed at the last second. Prep is key!
And lastly but not least, here’s a bonus tip (and what you’ve been patiently waiting for):
BRING. SOME. MUSIC!
I had NO idea how much of a difference this would make, but I’m so glad I brought my bluetooth speaker!
Especially if you’re a little shy in front of the camera, having some fun party music is a great way to break the ice and get you comfortable.
As soon as I started blasting “Cruel Summer”, we were able to get those great movement shots where I actually look at ease, comfortable, and happy.
Getting a good array of brand photos requires a lot of posing and a lot of movement. If you have a catchy beat to do that to? GAME CHANGER.
So if you haven’t already, hit that reply button and spill your favorite era! And if you’re at a place where you know a rebrand is in your near future, let’s talk!

Your reputation is pivotal, and I’ve heard through the grapevine that the quality leads you're seeking are scrutinizing yours. A piecemealed brand does no justice to your meticulously crafted client experience, services, and business structure. It’s time to align your external brand image with the exceptional quality of your services.
I believe every female founder deserves an iconic brand & website that live up to their business.
